On Monday August 8, 2022, at 09:00 pm, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Music Association of Andros
will give its anniversary summer concert for the 10+2 years of contribution to the culture of Andros island.
This concert is dedicated to 100 years since the Burning of Smyrna (Izmir)
The concert will present extracts From Greek Operettas and songs of Greek composers from Smyrna.
Featuring the soloists of the Greek National Opera:

Dimitris Sigalos
Dimitris Sigalos is a tenor. He was born in Athens and studied monody at the Hellenic Conservatory, under the distinguished baritone Vassilis Giannoulakos.
Since 1998 he has been collaborating with the Greek National Opera and with theatres in Germany, Romania and Sarajevo. He has performed protagonist roles in operas and operettas, such as The Beggar’s Opera, The Seven Deadly Sins, Le Grand Macabre, Konstantinos Paleologos, Ariadne auf Naxos, Macbeth, Nabucco, Andrea Chénier, Norma, Pagliacci, Turandot, Carmen, The Makropulos Affair, The Apaches of Athens, Godson, Cristina, Remember those years, La vie parisienne, The bat, The Cretan girl, The Princess of Sasson.
He has performed at the Athens Concert Hall and at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, in plays and operas such as Antigone, Lysistrata, The Sicilian Vespers, Don Carlos, Carmina Burana, and Sunrise.
He has collaborated with symphony orchestras (Athens State Orchestra, ERT National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours, Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra) and has given concerts in Greece and abroad.
Sofia Malama
Maria Malama obtained a diploma in classical singing with Distinction, under M. Krilovic at the Αthenaeum Conservatory. She also took acting classes with M. Rosner, and acting kinesiology classes (J. Cage system) with F. Lazaris at the Theatre of Changes.
She has performed as a soloist in concerts of Greek composers, in chamber music concerts (Lied) and in operas in Athens and Thessaloniki. She has collaborated with the Orchestra of Colours, the Plucked String Orchestra of The Municipality of Patras, the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. She has also performed in plays such as: the “Mistiki Gi” (Secret Land) mythodrama at the ancient theatre of Delphi, “Music for Ancient Drama” at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, “Hippocratic Oath” at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, “Life of Galileo” and “A Christmas Carol” at the National Theatre of Greece, “The Bacchae” at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, “Palingenesia” (Rebirth), etc.
From 2000 to 2010 she participated in all the Greek operetta productions at the New Stage of the Greek National Opera.
As a founding member of the acapella vocal ensemble 8tetto (octeto), from 2013 until today she has been participating in concerts with Greek and foreign repertoire at municipal festival events and children’s educational programmes about opera.
From 2017 to 2019 she taught at El Sistema Greece.
Since 2018 she has been teaching at the Praxi Epta drama school.
