Camerata – Orchestra of the Friends of Music

The best moments of the Greek operetta in a magnificent concert with brilliant protagonists and with the famous Camerata – Orchestra of the Friends of Music. The prominent conductor Giorgos Petrou leads this renowned Athenian band to a nostalgic musical journey in the magical world of the Greek operetta.

Beloved arias and groups of songs from the most famous Greek operettas (‘The Baptismal’, ‘I want to see the Pope’, ‘Apaches of Athens’ etc.) come alive through the beautiful sound of the many times awarded Camerata, with the magical voices of three of the most important Greek lyrical singers who have impressed the Athenian audience with their performances in operetta productions.

The Greek operetta is one of the three most significant parts of the European ‘light’ musical and one of the landmarks of the Greek music in the 20th century.  Camerata and Giorgos Petrou pioneered in the modern revival of the Greek operetta (‘The Baptismal’, ‘Picnic’), with new editions based on the manuscripts and with modern, high-quality productions and performances.

A unique musical experience with masterpiece versions of legendary works that left their trace in time and were loved by many generations of Greeks.

Ticket price: 18 euros, 12 euros for students, unemployed
