Lefteris Vogiatzis’ Andros A documentary by Elias Giannakakis
As it is known, Lefteris Vogiatzis discovered Andros at some point in his life and acknowledged it as his paradise on earth.
Director Elias Giannakakis, a friend of Lefteris Vogiatzis, attempts to create a portrait of the renowned theatrical creator after having captured him through his lens in various documentaries over the years.

The sole filming location is Lefteris Vogiatzis’ house in Andros, along with the view, the sounds and the landscape around it. The director gives the floor to Irini Levidi, Vogiatzis’ companion and collaborator at Odos Kykladon theatre.
Levidi is the only person who appears speaking in the documentary. In essence, however, it is Lefteris Vogiatzis who has the most intense presence in the film, both through Levidi’s words and his physical absence in the present moment, but also because we hear and see him in earlier videos.
Using a rich audiovisual archive from rehearsals, performances and photographs that capture Vogiatzis in Andros, the director depicts the island as an absolutely real utopia which played a decisive psychological and spiritual role in Lefteris Vogiatzis’ journey, albeit invisible and unknown to many.
The documentary will premiere at Andros Festival at the end of July 2026.
