Troade, a flagship, timeless piece and one of the most important pieces of Evripidis will be presented by the National Theatre, with a translation of K.X Miri and direction by Sotiris Hatzakis. Evripidis in this piece writes about a non-war masterpiece and judge the political behavior that takes place in Athens for the political outrage that had done few months ago against Million and also for the Sicilian Expedition that are preparing. Troades is a piece that deprecates the atrocities of the war and a heart-breaking request for solidarity and humanism.
At the camp of Achaion,at the seaside of the ransacked Troia,the captives Troaditisses and their queen,Ekavi,lament for the suffering.Those women who are still alive from the wiped out royal family,will be given as a gift at Achaious and the grandson of Ekavi,the little Astyanaktas,is knocked down from the walls as a victim of the violence of conquerors. Troia is burned and desperate women are leaded to the ships,where they will be transferred away from the Aegean Sea,as slaves in the houses of victors.
